CHaRM’s Onsite Nonprofit Partners

As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, we realize the importance of supporting other local nonprofit groups. Below are just a few of the local nonprofits that CHaRM supports!
America’s Thrift Stores

America's Thrift Stores

Trying to find a new home for your clothes and textiles? CHaRM is here to help! We take the used clothes and textiles that are dropped off at our facility and repurpose as much as possible by giving to America’s Thrift Stores. America’s Thrift Stores relies on the donations of the local community to collect used clothing and household items. They resell those items and share their profits with local organizations like Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). Used textiles that cannot be resold are repurposed into insulation, dog beds or rags.

So far in 2020, CHaRM has collected more than 63,000 pounds of textiles through America’s Thrift Stores.

The Gift of Music Foundation

Gift of Music Foundation

Kids lost interest in their musical instruments? Bring them to CHaRM and we will make sure that they find a good home! We partner with The Gift of Music Foundation to clean up and refurbish used instruments. The Gift of Music Foundation then takes the instruments and gives them to local children who may not otherwise be able to afford them. The Gift of Music Foundation also uses the instruments in their After School Music Enrichment Programs.

So far in 2020, CHaRM has collected more than 110 musical instruments that have been given to The Gift of Music Foundation!

Recycle for Good

Recycle for Good

Novelis is the leading producer of flat-rolled aluminum products and the world’s largest recycler of aluminum. They work alongside their customers to provide innovative solutions to the aerospace, automotive, beverage can and specialty markets. Novelis developed the Recycle for Good program that joins forces with groups like CHaRM to collect aluminum cans. The proceeds from recycling these donated cans goes to Habitat for Humanity and funds Atlanta Habitat houses. CHaRM is working with Recycle for Good to try to recycle 100,000 pounds of aluminum in 2021.

Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta

Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta

Got a used mattresses? No problem! CHaRM takes your old mattresses and then partners with the Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta to redistribute the mattresses to disaster areas. Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta takes the used mattresses, dismantles them, sanitizes them and then re-stuffs the mattresses to make them as good as new! In 2019, more than 1500 mattresses donated by CHaRM were given to families that lost their homes in the California wildfires and hurricanes in the Gulf Coast.

So far in 2020, CHaRM has collected more than 900 mattresses that have been given to the Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta!

Focused Community Strategies and Bearings Bike Shop

FCS Ministries and Bearings Bike Shop

Old bikes gathering dust in the garage? CHaRM can help with that too! We take your old bikes and give them to FCS Ministries. FCS partners with local nonprofit, Bearings Bike Shop, to get the bikes refurbished and in the hands of kids in southwest Atlanta who may not otherwise be able to afford one. Having a bike not only provides mobility for these kids, but in many cases, it fills idle time with something positive and productive.

So far in 2020, CHaRM has collected more than 375 bikes that have been given FCS Ministries and Bearings Bike Shop!

Atlanta ToolBank

Atlanta Toolbank

We partner with the Atlanta Toolbank to take used/unwanted tools and put them to good use!

The Atlanta Toolbank lends tools to nonprofits and charitable organizations that equip volunteers. Those volunteers complete service projects, making Atlanta a more vibrant and progressive place for everyone. No one helps drive change in the community at the scale the ToolBank does. Click here for a full list of tools that we accept.
